What are push lawn sweepers?

A push lawn sweeper is a device that is designed to be pushed along through the yard. As you push, its combs, or “brushes”, sweep the ground, picking up anything in the path (namely, leaves and grass) and depositing it into a bag situated on the rear of the device. When this bag gets full, you empty it into a trash bag, and get back to work!

First of all, many people will agree that you need to buy a good push lawn sweeper to make it worth it. You can buy a cheap one, but there will probably be things about it you don’t like. Things like all plastic parts that easily break, a very small bag made out of a tarp-like material that tears easily, and combs that don’t pick up very well are all included in these complaints.

It is very important that you determine how much you want to spend on one of these, because the ones that cost more are probably going to work better for you in the long run. Things to look for in a good push lawn sweeper are positive customer reviews!

Customer reviews are worth their weight in gold to the consumer because they tell a buyer something about a product that they cannot possibly know yet....they tell him/her how other buyers felt after the purchase. So, read some customer reviews, or even some consumer reports on the subject before making a choice as to which one you want.

Another thing to keep in mind about push lawn sweepers is how big the bag is. This might not seem like an important fact, but it is. On the smallest models, customers complained that they had to stop and empty the bag every five feet!
